Mrs. Lohr Dies At Columbus Hospital
Mrs. Mary Lohr, 81, a resident of Columbus, died at St. Mary’s hospital, this city, Friday afternoon, where she had been taken two weeks ago.
Mrs. Lohr was the former Mary Newmiller and was born July 18, 1877, in Illinois. She was the daughter of John Newmiller and his wife Elizabeth.
She was the widow of Charles Lohr who died in 1948. One son Harold preceded her in death. Also preceding her were one sister and one brother.
She is survived by two sons, Paul of Columbus and Gerald of Pasadena, California; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Bartholomew, Columbus; Mrs. Edith Wieman, German Valley, Illinois; and by four grandchildren.
She was a member of the Congregational church and the Royal Neighbors.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Jones Funeral home, Rev. Earl Remaly officiated. Interment was in the Hillside cemetery.

We wish to thank our friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during our recent bereavement for our beloved Mother and sister, Mrs. Mary Lohr. We wish to extend our sincere thanks for floral tributes and contributions for a memorial fund, to the nuns and aides of St. Mary’s Hospital, also Dr. Cheli and the Jones Funeral Home.

Charles Lohr, a well known young Freeporter, was united in marriage to Miss Mamie Newmiller, a charming young Orangeville lady, in this city on Thursday evening by Justice Abbott. Geo. Frantz and wife, who came here on a similar mission some time ago, accompanied them.
